Why don’t adult professionals get spring break? (South By Southwest doesn’t count.) I want to take a break from work emails, relax on the balcony, and enjoy the spring breeze. Maybe it would be nice to sip a drink as well. If you’re ready for a break, try mixing up one of these easy spring cocktails. They’re delicious, refreshing, and perfect for both weekend or for a mid-week breather!
Spring Cocktail Recipes
Lemon Basil Martini
Ingredients:
2 slices of lemon (and 1 to garnish with if desired)
2 oz. citron vodka
1/2 oz. orange liquer
5 basil leaves
Method:
Muddle your basil and lemon wedges in a cocktail shaker. Pour in the vodka and add some ice. Shake it up and serve in a martini or other pretty glass. You can use the basil as garnish as well as a lemon wedge to pretty this up a bit.
Violet Fizz
Ingredients:
2 oz. gin
1/2 oz. creme de violette
1 oz. lemon juice
1/2 oz. agave nectar or simple syrup
Club soda
Method: Mix everything but the club soda together in a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour into a highball or other type of glass. Top off with club soda and enjoy your delicious violet-hued drink! (Did I mention purple is my favorite color?)
Mimosas
Ingredients:
1/2 glass orange juice
1/2 glass brut champagne
Method: Mix the juice and the champagne together and there you go! Super easy. This is a great drink to make for friends as well: Just get a carafe and fill it half with juice and half with champagne. For some variety you could use cranberry juice or grapefruit juice instead of orange.
