With fall just around the corner, I’m daydreaming about drinking hot cider and visiting the pumpkin patch. In cooler weather, I’m also drawn to wearing warmer colors. Eye shadow offers so much opportunity to get creative and adapt your look to the changing season. I love this look because its principal colors—dusty rose and dark chocolate—echo the warmth of this season’s palette, while the shimmer in the shadows keeps the look fun and flirty. Eyeliner is applied with a light touch, keeping the look relatively soft, making it perfect for work or class. I encourage you to customize this look according to your personal style.
To create this look, I’ve used the following vegan-friendly products:
Tarte clean slate™ 360º creaseless 12-hr smoothing eye primer
Josie Maran Eye Love You Too Palette
Jane Iredale Pencil Eyeliner in Black/Brown
Tarte multiplEYE™ lash enhancing primer
Tarte gifted™ Amazonian clay smart mascara
Step One: Begin by prepping your eyelid with eye shadow primer and applying a neutral powder to the entire lid.
From Josie Maran’s palette, I used “bunny,” a pale, buttery, shimmering powder.
Step Two: Press a dusty rose shade onto your moving eyelid. I used “chirp.”
Step Three: Blend a matte chocolate shade into the outer corner of your eyelid. I used “campfire.”
Step Four: To line your eyes, press dark brown eyeliner (or eye shadow) into the roots of your lashes.
This process, called “tightlining,” gives the appearance a darker, fuller set of lashes before you even apply mascara.
Step Five: Complete the look by your curling your lashes and applying your favorite mascara.
