Beautiful dumplings, it’s time to get excited about fall beauty. We’ve talked about vegan coats and wardrobe updates, and I’ve been itching to delve into beauty updates that you can make this autumn to (pumpkin ;)) spice up your routine and recharge your skin while you’re at it. Without further ado, here are the fall beauty updates I’m pumped about!
Lip Color
In addition to sporting fall-friendly red and berry shades, it may be worth investing in a “new nude.” Unlike nude lips of previous seasons, “nude” now means “like your lips but better.” In other words, look for a color that’s similar to your own lip color rather than a generic beige. Try Studio 78 Paris Liquid Lipstick.
Foundation
Increasingly, foundation has become about improving the appearance of skin without completely hiding it. The best foundations reflect light without making you look like a greasy disco ball—and they actually contribute to the health of your skin while you’re wearing them. ILIA Vivid Foundation contains healing botanicals, including green tea, aloe, and rosemary to help restore skin while newly-released Alima Pure Liquid Silk Foundation contains hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, argan oil, and coconut and is particularly suited for those who struggle with dry skin.
Lashes, lashes
Finding the right mascara is a challenge. Ditto applying falsies. Why not try some of the new and innovative ways to step up your lash game? One Two Cosmetics recently came out with synthetic (no-fur) magnetic false lashes that require no glue (warning: there is a bit of a wait list for these puppies). Flirt Cosmetics has just released a lash applicator that dispenses three clusters of lashes at a time for a customizable lash look.
Under-Eye Skin
The under eye area is of concern for many of us. From lack of sleep to genes, there are numerous factors that influence the appearance of the skin around our eyes. Fortunately, there are a few things you can to do improve the health of this delicate skin. In addition to moisturizing with an eye cream (I like 100% Pure Coffee Caffeine Eye Cream), you can try masks designed especially for your eyes like Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Instant Eye Lift Algae Mask. The combination of algae and antioxidants help moisturize and brighten the tiredness right out of your under-eye area.
Eyeshadow
While contemporary beauty trends have been pushing us towards more natural, no-makeup makeup looks, a little sparkle is always welcome in my book. The look isn’t overly bold, however. Just add a touch of shimmery shadow on the center of your eyelids. This can help make eyes like bigger, brighter, and more awake–just in case you didn’t have time to use your new eyemask. Try Butter London Glazen Eye Gloss.
