Natural Beauty: Lilac Eyes Tutorial

Intoxicating and dreamy, lilac eyes are the perfect accent to a romantic ensemble. By keeping the rest of your face neutral and slightly dewy, the purple tones won’t clash with the rest of your palette.

This look can be toned down for a sweet daytime look or intensified for a colorful smoky eye (hello, date night!).

For your peepers:

1. Prep your lids with a neutral eyeshadow or mineral powder.

2. Apply a light-medium shade of shimmery lavender to the lower half of your moving lid. Blend well for a soft look.

3. Blend a darker shade of purple onto the outer third of your moving eyelid, carrying it into the crease of the outer eyelid.

4. To highlight the brow bone, pat a shimmery light pink shadow onto your brow bone under the brow. Take this same shadow and apply a small amount on the inner corners of your eyes. This will brighten and “open” your eyes.

5. To intensify the look, apply black eyeliner along the upper lash line and smudge. You may also repeat on the lower lash line.

6. For added color, smear a little of the light-medium purple shade along the outer 2/3 of your lower lash line.

7. Apply to coats of your favorite mascara.

For the rest of your face:

1. Apply a BB cream/foundation and concealer where necessary.

2. Dust a light layer of blush along your cheekbones. To keep your face from clashing with the blue tones in your eyeshadow, avoid orange-y blushes and opt for cooler pinks.

3. Don’t forget to fill in your eyebrows! Here’s how.

4. Apply a light rose lip balm or gloss.

Eye makeup used: Alima Pure Pearluster Eyeshadow in “Amethyst” (light-medium purple), Alima Pure Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadow in “Twighlight” (dark purple), Lily Lolo Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow Quad in “Molten Bronze” (for pale pink shade) Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Mascara, DeVita Soft Lines Eyeliner Pencil in “Absolute Obsidian.”
