An ethical vegan since 2006, Juhea founded Peaceful Dumpling in 2013 while working full-time in book publishing.
In addition to editing PD, Juhea works as a fiction writer and an environmental journalist. Her writing has been published or is forthcoming in leading journals in the U.S. and the U.K. such as Granta, Times Literary Supplement, Slice, Zyzzyva, Catapult, Sierra Magazine, and HuffPost. She has received fellowships and grants for her ecological writing from Bread Loaf Environmental Writers Conference at Middlebury College, Arizona State University, and Regional Arts & Culture Council. Juhea has spoken as an expert on sustainable entrepreneurship at Saks Fifth Avenue, Athleta, Princeton University, and elsewhere. She graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Art & Archaeology and a certificate in French. In her free time, Juhea can be found going to the ballet, hiking, and traveling. After a decade in New York City, she now lives with her two rescue cats in a solar-powered Art Deco loft in Portland, Oregon.
Mary Hood Luttrell graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude from Bucknell University with degrees in English and French.
She received her Master’s in English from the University of Oregon. In addition to serving as Creative Director at Peaceful Dumpling, Mary is a regular contributor for Debb Report and is the Beauty Editor at Vilda Magazine. Her writing has been featured on MarthaStewart.com, The Everygirl, and Vegan Beauty Review. Mary lives in Corpus Christi, TX with her husband, daughter, and cat.
Crystal is a certified Pilates Instructor and professional Latin Ballroom dancer born and raised in Los Angeles.
She started her dance training as a young child with ballet and jazz. While ballet gave her a strong technical foundation, it wasn’t until she discovered Latin Ballroom did she feel her true passion for dance could be expressed. Having trained extensively with World Champion Latin Ballroom Dancers, she has competed professionally all over the U.S. After graduating from USC with a degree in Fine Arts, she went on to sign with Bloc Talent Agency where she performed in commercials, music videos and live stage shows. After ten years of dancing and competing, Crystal got certified as a Pilates instructor and has been teaching Pilates and fitness classes around the L.A. area for the past six years. Mindful movement and healthy living are her passions and she is inspired to share it with the world!
