Don’t you just love autumn? The changing colors, the nip in the air? The feeling that the holidays are just around the corner?
Not sure if anything is as synonymous with autumn as pumpkin. Personally, I love pumpkin everything, pies, cookies, and even martinis. Yes you read that correctly.
Pumpkin martinis.
Pumpkin might not be the first ingredient you think of when contemplating what type of martini to drink, but maybe it should be.
Drinking a pumpkin martini is just like tasting the warmth of family combined with the happiness of the holiday season combined in a single sip.
Why not try a scrumptious autumn themed martini. It’s full of delightful satisfying goodness. After trying many types of martinis, this is my favorite cocktail. Practically every type of martini exists out there, and it’s actually hard to go wrong with any one of them in my opinion. It’s a refreshing way to end a long day, to start off a great night out, or as a mid-afternoon treat. The pumpkin flavor in this martini will have your mind conjuring up images of warm pumpkin pies, families enjoying their time together and the holidays that are whispering hello. Before you know it, the stores will once again be decked in full holiday regalia, so before then, why not make yourself a subtly spiced pumpkin martini and experience at the start of the season while you still have the desire to.
We all know how it gets, at the start of the season we are all excited, and into it after a few weeks of constant Christmas music, crazy traffic at the malls, people underfoot seemingly everywhere... before all of that happens, take a moment, make yourself a scrumptious drink and reflect on why we celebrate the holidays, most notably, the family friends who fill our lives, that we are truly grateful for. Hopefully taking a moment out of your day will allow you the opportunity to realize that you do have a lot to be grateful for, and to enjoy your life. Happy Fall.
This recipe has two of my favorite ingredients nutmeg and cinnamon. Whenever I taste these two together I am instantly transported home, not just ordinary home, but home for the holidays. Not only are they amazing tasting but great for you too:
Nutmeg- Has been used since ancient times to help treat pain. It’s very helpful for joint pain and inflammation. It is also a digestive aid and. It can help detoxify your body when used regularly.
Cinnamon- Is a great source of iron, calcium and fiber. It contains anti-bacterial properties. When used with consistency can even help you your brain’s cognitive function.
I also wanted to share why I always use coconut sugar instead of brown sugar, some brown sugar is refined using bone char ( just like white sugar) Not all of it is, however unless you’re sure, it’s best to not take a chance. Using coconut sugar instead of brown sugar ensures a vegan and cruelty free result regardless of the dish you’re creating.
