How much money do you spend a month at cafes? I spend a ridiculous amount. It's not that I need the caffeine--in fact I only drink decaf. But what I'm really paying for is the experience, you know what I mean? Somehow between ordering the coffee and setting my laptop is when I click into writing mode. But since moving last week, I've discovered that there are not really any good working cafes in the W 70s (what the what??). (Seriously, no wifi / timed wifi? Do you not want my $4 every single day for months and months?). Plus my new set up is so nice, facing lovely backside of brownstones with patios and gardens, with such nice candles that I splurged on, that I'm determined to do more work at home.
Enter this DIY mocha smoothie that's the perfect combination of coffee and breakfast. It is so delicious and simple, the ideal thing to throw on in the blender to get started with your day. I used the cold brew concentrate from Trader Joes, which is about $7.50 per bottle in NYC. That's around 12 servings, so you're basically making money by drinking this. ;) Sip this to chill out and energize your summer mornings!
