Cool off this spring and upcoming summer with this refreshing and fruity banana berry smoothie bowl! This is also a sweet and fun weekend project to do with the kids by the pool or whenever. :)
I personally am not a fan of regular smoothies but when I get that sweet craving, I make sure to add a little extra frozen nana pieces to make the smoothie thicker and creamier. It gives it that ice-cream/frozen yogurt like consistency. Then I load on the toppings! I used banana slices, blueberries and chia seeds for this recipe. Also, I added a dollop of my fresh almond butter on top.
Banana Facts:
Did you know?
- Bananas have no fat or sodium and contain about 100 calories in a 110 g or large banana.
- High in vitamin C, potassium, vitamin B6 and fiber.
- To ripen bananas faster: put them in a sealed container like a brown paper bag. Adding another fruit to the container (such as an apple or even a tomato) will further speed the ripening.
- Wrapping banana stems tightly in cling wrap will make them last three to five days longer.
- About 75 percent of the weight of a banana is water.
Eat yo nanas!!
Hope you enjoy this recipe. :)
