Although their ingredients vary quite a bit, most of my smoothies tend to be green. Every once and a while, however, I crave a smoothie of a different color! If you’re yearning for a little tropical flair in your diet, this lovely yellow-orange smoothie is just the ticket.
The ingredients aren’t only pretty, they’re bursting with skin-smoothing properties. Rich in vitamin E, almond butter comes to the aid of dry skin while turmeric and ginger reduce inflammation, cleanse the blood, and increase circulation (a recipe for youthful, beautiful skin!). Carrots and mangoes are packed with beta-carotene (a precursor of vitamin A), one of the most potent anti-aging nutrients. Carrots are also a good source of calcium, potassium, iron, fiber, and biotin—talk about beautifying! Finally, maca, one of my all-time favorite beauty ingredients is well known for its hormone-balancing properties. As many of us have experienced, there’s no happy skin without a balanced endocrine system.
Enjoy this smoothie on a warm spring afternoon as it helps you glow from the inside out.
