A brisk morning run in autumn can be so invigorating! But that nip in the air also makes it harder to get out of bed. If you’re like me, it helps to have cute workout gear you actually want to slip into first thing in the morning. So, we’re sharing some of our favorite vegan running shoes. These are so vibrant and fun they may just be worth leaving the comfort of your warm, cozy blankets.
Note: when looking for vegan running shoes, we want non-leather materials, plus glues and dyes that aren’t derived from animals. To make things easier, online shops like REI and Zappos feature ‘vegan’ as a search filter.
According to PETA, shoes from Brooks, Mizuno, Newton, and On are all-vegan brands.
- Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17 (in Black/Heliotrope/Fiery Coral)
These shoes stabilize overpronation. We love them because they remind us of kaleidescopes and put us in a playful mood!
- Brooks PureFlow 6 (in Peacock/Byzantium/Corsican Blue)
The peacock feather design on these shoes is stunning! They provide lightweight cushioning and neutral support.
- Mizuno Wave Rider 21 (in Baja Blue/Dazzling Blue/Flash)
These shoes, in a tranquil blue shade, provide lightweight cushioning and neutral-to-supination support.
- Newton Running Gravity VI (in Rhodamine/Teal)
Perfect if you’re looking for a lightweight style with the cushioning close to the foot. These shoes provide neutral support.
- On Cloud (in Limelight)
With a unique cushioning technology and an ample toe box, these shoes come in a variety of colors, including this unexpected shade of yellow.
Asics are mostly vegan (but watch out for models with an “L” for leather at the end of their product codes)
- Asics DynaFlyte 2 (in Black/Pink/Persian Jewel)
These shoes provide neutral-to-supination support. The ombré on the sole is striking.
- Asics GT-2000 5 (in Pink Glow/White/Purple)
If you’re looking for fluorescent pink, you’ve come to the right place! These shoes give support for overpronation.
Other well-known brands like Nike and Adidas feature some vegan models, so read or ask about the materials.
- Nike Lunar Skyelux (in Electro Green/Black/Vapor Green)
These shoes boast a sock-like fit and support for supination. They’re fun to look at, too.
